A close-knit studio led by our three Directors ( John Farquhar, Nick Bowen and Sheena Raeburn), we have seven Landscape Architects, a Graduate Landscape Architect and a Studio Manager.

Our chartered members serve as Mentors, Supervisors and Examiner for the Landscape Institute Pathway to Chartership, as well as contributing to Design Panels for Architecture + Design Scotland and West Dunbartonshire Council.

We support internships for students, who give us their creative energy, enthusiasm and drive to learn in return for experience supporting our Landscape Architects (and a Living Wage). If that interests you, click here.

We are a Living Wage Employer and a Cycle Friendly Employer.

The Studio

Ian White Associates Landscape Architects has become RaeburnFarquharBowen.

Our identity reflects our continued evolution as a practice, and our confidence in the future of our studio. It signifies a collaborative environment in which the skills, interests and experience of our enthusiastic staff is encouraged. The staff who have been with us since 2011 remain committed to taking our studio forward as we start a new decade.

We are proud of what the studio has become in the past eight years, and feel that now, as we enter a new decade, is an appropriate time for our young practice to take on a new identity; one that looks to our future. Our continued evolution as a practice, embracing sustainable design with expertise in green infrastructure, community co-design and outdoor recreation, reflects national and international prioritisation of sustainability, biodiversity and climate resilience. Our interests lie in creating rich, diverse landscapes for people and wildlife to cohabit, and in developing exciting and relevant designs through open engagement and community co-design.

We strive to ensure the landscapes we create and manage are resilient, biodiverse and resource-efficient; we believe that our work should contribute to meeting UN Sustainable Development Goals, and in so doing deliver long-term value to our clients. We are landscape architects who enjoy our role in helping our clients achieve beautiful and multi-functional places that nourish people and nature.

Offering a bespoke service tailored to the needs of our clients, we design, deliver and guide the management of elegant, enduring, delightful places for those who live, work and play in them. We believe that multifunctional landscapes are vital to a just, prosperous and sustainable nation.

We adopt a thoughtful and collaborative approach, working with clients and design colleagues to create an enduring legacy of habitats for people and nature.

We are experienced in the successful design and delivery of projects across a broad range of sectors, including green infrastructure masterplanning, public realm, rural and visitor destinations, education, health, sensitive landscapes and LVIA. We are a Building with Nature accredited Assessor.

We remain an independent Landscape Architecture studio, located in Stirling, central Scotland.
