Loch Leven National Nature Reserve

LocationLoch Leven, Kinross-shire

ClientThe Rural Access Committee for Kinross-shire

StatusCompleted 2014

Working for TRACKS (The Rural Action Trust for Kinross-shire) in partnership with Aaron Lawton Associates, we designed and oversaw construction of 4 entry points to the new Loch Leven Trail, an exciting project creating a path around the Loch Leven National Nature Reserve.

Visitor interpretation combined with bespoke stone carvings and walling to illustrate the flora, fauna and cultural history of Loch Leven. Marking a close collaboration between TRACKS, Scottish Natural Heritage and Perth and Kinross Council, the trail has been a great success as an amenity for all.

Cycle tourism is a rapidly growing sector providing significant new income to those rural businesses that respond to the needs of cyclists and promote cycling facilities. Our work at Loch Leven together with previous experience on Sustrans projects help us understand the possibilities for Clients able to move into this market.
